Modern Heritage Card for Mum

I made this gorgeous 8" x 8" card for my Mum.......... from the Modern Heritage cd rom from theclipartfairy.
I printed it onto the lovely white linen cardstock and matted and layered the two different bp's. I've added decoupaged "M" and painted this over with clear nail varnish (as always) and used little pearls, white bows and the lovely sheer white ribbon down the left side of the card - topped with a pearl heart.  Suitably glamour dusted, this card looks stunning I think (pic doesn't do it justice).

Mini wordbook for Baby Girl

I was trying out different styles of Wordbooks to see which I preferred.......... this is a little mini one I played around with before deciding on the previous post....... the lovely blue baby boy wordbook, but thought I'd post it for you to see anyway.

I've again used the alphabet and graphics from theclipartfairy's cd "It's in the Words" which is my all time favourite crafters cd.  Instead of having the letters overhanging the pages, I framed them in the space on the page, still quite a nice look I think, but the blue one is my favourite.

The little glittery brads holding the pages together were another 29p bargain from Hobbycraft's sale clearance.  As usual, I've glamour dusted around the letters and the gorgeous little baby graphics........ don't you love the little sleeping baby peeping out from the next to last page:)

Wordbook Card for Baby Boy

I'm delighted with this.......... my very first attempt at a wordbook card.  I measured out each page of the book and used Open Office to put together this book.  I used gradients in baby blue and white to get the shading on the pages.  The alphabet letters and the little baby graphic are from the crafters cd from theclipartfairy.  This is my favourite crafters cd and I must use this every day I craft.
I've fastened the pages of the wordbook together with one of my Hobbycraft absolute bargains (29p in the clearance).......... lovely little gold heart brads.  They come in a pack of about 50, so a fab bargain.  I've painted over the little boy graphic with clear nailvarnish to give a lovely shiny finish and used my Zig glue marker around the edges of the letters to add a bit of sparkle with glamourdust.  Just to finish off, I've made a little blue bow (printed with Its a Boy) to the top left of the book.

Crib Card

Playing with graphics last night and decided to make up this gorgeous graphic of bear in crib, again from the fab clipartfairy.  I've used the concertina sides (shown on next pic) to give the cot dimension and for this card I think works brilliantly.

I've added the name, Grace, to the cot (use name of recipient). You could personalise with date and time baby born too, on the end of the crib.  I've added some little bows with tiny nappy pins to the crib posts and a little pink crown to teddy's hairband.

Boxful of Sports

I know I'm not alone in struggling to get a good pic of cards at the minute, I see from other blogs that they're struggling also, due to the dull February weather.  This card, is made using another graphic from the clipart fairy. I've enlarged the graphic considerably to end up with a large 8"x8" square card.  As you can see, I've added the recipients name and age to the box flaps, what the pic doesn't show is that I've decoupaged the box flaps, the shoes and equipment at the bottom of the box and same with the equipment coming out of the top of box.

I've painted over the shoes, balls, bat and cap with, of all things, clear varnish (this doesn't make the colour run from graphic), to add a nice sheen to graphic and being a boy's card, minimal glitter (just on the wording).  I was asked to make a card for Adam that included his favourite sport (football) with some blue (in the shoes and cap), a card that was neither too grown up nor too babyish.  I think this fits the bill, don't you?

Dolly Mixtures Gatefold

I've used the Dolly Mixtures shapers from the clipart fairy and the Dolly Mixtures graphic. I attached the shaper to a gatefold card that I printed off with a matching bp again from the clipart fairy.  I've glamour dusted around the edges of shaper and added little pearl flower buttons and same to headband.  She's a cutie isn't she, sat on the bottom of the shaper.

Stable Card

Made this unusual card from a Polkadoodles cd. As you will see in the next two pics, the stable door opens to reveal a horse inside, the horse is removable.  I've added glamour dust on the horseshoes and the sentiment.  This would be an ideal card for someone who loves horses.

Simply Gracie - Just For You

I've put together this 8"x6" card using the image "Simply Gracie" from Wendy over at the clipart fairy.  I matted and layered the two co-ordinating bp's, decoupaged Gracie, added three little "boxes" on the left of the card to which I stuck three little cream fabric daisies.  I added a computer generated sentiment in an oblong layered box at the bottom right - Just For You.

The picture, sadly does not give a true representation of the colours used here, they are actually a muted peachy colour but in the light of my desk lamp, have taken on a more terracotta colour.  I have added my usual sparkle and am pleased with the overall result.

Simple Black and White Oaktree

Simple black and white 8" x 6" card, oaktree with verse......... looks just like its been stamped onto the page, all I've added is little white bow and bit of glamour dust.

Elizabeth's Owlhouse

Just thought I'd post this little "owlhouse" that my lovely granddaughter, Elizabeth has made with me this morning.  I found a template for the 3D birdhouse as a freebie on the internet (sorry but can't remember where!!!) Elizabeth (and I) both love owls so we used the backing paper from the clipart fairy for the actual box and the Owl from a kit from the clipart fairy also.  The owl on the front is stuck onto a cocktail stick which is poked through the house and secured with some fine wire.

We have attached a length of very fine wire to the roof so's it can hang from somewhere in Elizabeth's room.  You could also make the house up and fill with little bird treats and give to someone as a present for the birds in their garden (That's what the original template was being shown as.)

Hope you like it, we think it's cute............. this will be something we will be using trying out different papers and hopefully different little birds too.

Gorgeous Handbag Card

I was asked to make a 40th birthday card for a friends daughter........ this is what I made.  The design is from the clipart fairy.  I added little seed pearls and a peel-off (which I don't usually use).  The recipient was delighted with her card and I enjoyed making it.  There are more cards like this from Wendy, on her cd "Handbag Cards" and all are fabulous and so easy to create.

Today I have also been creating a Christening Card for a friends Granddaughter...... I have used the clipart fairy's "book-a-easels" cd to create this and completed with a box, unfortunately the batteries have run out on my camera so not able to transfer tonight but will put a pic of that on tomorrow.

Wedding Cake Card

The pic doesn't do this card justice...... there are so many layers of decoupage to this (7 or 8) and the diamond sparkles don't show up too well either.  I have added little pearl flowers and pretty pale pink orchids to finish off this lovely card.  The back of the card is also printed in the same way and the finished card stands about 12" high.

Card for Daisy's 1st Birthday

I made this card for a friend of mine's baby granddaughters 1st Birthday. I've used backing papers and country chic graphics from the clipart fairy...... decoupaging the flower and a letter in Daisy's name to give the card some dimension.  The colours on this are a lovely raspberry pink and are delightful.

Football Card

Want to share this "footie" card I created tonight.  I don't do football cards usually so was struggling a bit until I found these graphics on a ready to print card but wanted to make up a bigger card so used different elements to create 8" x 8" card for a man's 40th birthday.

As a little quirky thing........... I've added a musical insert which when the card opens, it plays Simply The Best, which I think works very well with this card.  I'll let you into a little secret about the musical part..... I bought a cheap mothers day card locally that had this insert and cut open the card to remove the musical bits and put back together inside my handmade card!!! and it works..... wheyyyy

Card for Dylan

        Hope you like it!

Card for Dylan

I designed this card last night for my Cousin (who wanted a birth congratulation card), I've used the bear on shelf graphic from theclipartfairy, along with backing papers from same.  I decoupaged the bear on shelf to give some dimension and added two little brads for the knobs on the drawer and some sheer ribbon and bow. Two little blue baby feet added to the top right (bargain from Hobbycraft clearance at 29p - wow!)
